Reminder for this week - the church is not available due to their Family Promise event, so all den meetings will be off-site.
Tigers - Orono Park beach, please bring some recycling materials as you will be making boats.
Bears - Check with your Den Leaders
Wolves - Lions Park bandshell/playground, please bring your boats made from recycled materials. There will also be a sign up for the veteran's care packages.
Webelos I - Scout Island, check with Jim if it is raining.

April 29th-May 1st is the Den Leader and Adult Leader Training at Parker Scout Camp in Nisswa. For only $35, you spend the weekend at the Castle, and get tons of training required for Cub Scouts. We already have at least one parent going, and it would be great to have a few more. Some of the training offered is Youth Protection, required by all adults working with the Pack and BALOO, which is required for any Pack camp-out, such as Family Camp last October. It is very important that we have these trainings done. They are available online, but this weekend is going to be a lot more interesting and educational than the online version  :)
Info is attached, or contact me if you have any questions.

Saturday May 7th is the spring Tree Planting Service Project. Cub Scouts get to work with area Boy Scout Troops and the Sherburne Soil and Water Conservation District to plant 400 bare root trees to help reforest local parks. This year it will be at Woodland Trails Park, 20135 Elk Lake Rd, from 9-12 - rain or shine. This is a great chance to be active outside with the boys, and also a great service for the community.
Dress appropriately, as we will be in the woods - long pants, sturdy shoes and gloves. If possible, bring round pointed shovels, 5 gallons buckets and a wheelbarrow.

One of our last events is the Lincoln Carnival, which is an excellent way for the Scouts to maintain a presence in the schools. We are asking for parent/Scout teams to volunteer for 30 minute shifts to help run a game - the Piggy Races. We will provide the prizes, and any volunteers will get in free. We ask that the Cub Scouts wear their uniforms to help spread the word about Scouting.
